The software
Normally the Keymapper software takes over the control, or so I thought, but it was not possible to establish a functioning connection with the Block keyboard. Although the board was recognized and displayed on the page, only the information described appeared without any settings being able to be made. As the board works correctly and all functions are available as normal, it is reasonable to assume that no external software is provided and that all configurations are made directly via the keyboard itself.
- System compatibility: The keyboard is compatible with Mac, iOS, Windows and Android. Switching between Mac and Windows mode is done via a switch on the keyboard.
- Connectivity: It has three connection modes: wired via USB-C, Bluetooth and via a 2.4 GHz dongle. The connection to up to four different devices (three via Bluetooth, one via cable) and switching between them is controlled via dedicated key combinations (e.g.
Fn1for BT1). - Multimedia control: The keyboard has a special rotary knob for volume control and muting.
- Lighting: The white backlighting and RGB side lighting can be set using key combinations (
FnF5/F6for brightness,Fnarrow keys for effects). - Key remapping/macros: The Lofree Block does not support software for key remapping or macro programming, such as VIA, unlike other Lofree models such as the Flow 2.
- Therefore, this section is unfortunately kept very short.
