Extensions
To demonstrate the flexibility of the Magnus Pro and prove the quality of their products, Secretlab has included a few add-ons for this review. These are a heavy duty monitor arm, a cable management kit and the obligatory ARGB kit, which is intended to emphasize the contemporary look of the desk.
The extensions are presented separately and are not directly included in the final evaluation of the desk.
MAGRGB XL Diffused LED Strip
It all starts with the lighting kit.
For a hefty surcharge of €99, you get a custom-made magnetic ARGB strip in cooperation with nanoleaf.
In addition to the unexpectedly heavy and solid ARGB strip, the package also includes a controller, a matching power supply unit and a connection cable.
Of course, the kit had to be tested in advance to check its functionality before assembly.
The illumination is pleasingly even, the colors are rich and bright.
In detail: A powerful magnet is incorporated into the strip every approx. 10 cm.
Installation is child’s play: unroll the strip and attach it piece by piece from below to the end piece of the tabletop. The USB-C connection can be made from one or the other end of the strip, so you don’t have to worry about it during installation. Attach, switch on, done!
If you don’t feel like always reaching for the controller to configure the lighting, you can of course also install the nanoleaf app on your smartphone. Setting it up is child’s play if the controller can be found by the smartphone. I had to disconnect the power supply once, but on the second attempt it worked straight away.
As a friend of the cultivated RGB funfair, I can definitely get excited about it – the visual effect is definitely an eye-catcher and the implementation is technically very well done.
Of course, as a potential customer, you have to decide for yourself whether this fun is worth the price of €99 – ARGB strips are available from the big river for much less money and the end result is unlikely to make a huge difference.
Magnetic Cable Management Bundle
Secretlab offers several extension sets for cable management. The “small” kit shown here (3 magnetic cable holders, 2 magnetic cable channels, 10 Velcro cable ties) for 49€ and the “large” kit (9 magnetic cable holders, 2 magnetic cable channels, 20 Velcro cable ties) for 74€. The respective components can also be purchased separately. The magnetic cable holders are available in a variety of colors.
The packaging and presentation of the set are very pleasing.
For €49, however, the contents of the set are rather sparse.
The small cable holders are equipped with very strong magnets and can be attached practically anywhere on the desk. This effectively counteracts the charging cable for smartphones and the like “falling backwards off the desk” and even if the price is high, it somehow makes the nerd’s heart beat faster.
I attached the cable ducts to the back of the table leg to neatly stow the LAN cable.

However, Secretlab also has a perfect solution for this in the form of a magnetic Ethernet cable extender in its portfolio, which is much more attractively priced at €49 compared to the Cable Management Bundle.

I won’t go into the Velcro cable ties any further, as they are generic standard products that every one of our readers has probably already had in their hands.
