Structure
Assembly is quick and easy. Unless you have two left thumbs and maybe even a helping hand, it can be done in less than half an hour. After a few chairs, you will have acquired a certain amount of experience and the assembly process usually differs only minimally from chair to chair. What’s more, I’ve had a pretty blonde assistant at my side since the beginning of the year, although she first had a look at the assembly from a safe distance.
The first step was to fit the feet. These are simply inserted into the openings provided and snap into the end position with a small amount of force.
The finished base is then placed on the castors and pushed aside for the time being.
Once the first step has been completed, the pre-assembled base can be turned over to fit the rocker mechanism. Four thick screws hold the mechanism securely in place.
The next step is to insert the gas strut into the rocker mechanism. It is usually important to ensure that the dust protection cap, which is designed to protect the gas strut from dust and dirt, is threaded in beforehand. Once the gas strut is properly seated, it can only be removed with heavy tools! In the case of the TANK, nothing needs to be done, as there is apparently no suitable dust protection cap for the monstrous gas strut. The gas strut must be inserted carefully and accurately (do not tilt) into the rocker mechanism:
Once the gas pressure spring is in place, the pre-assembled base is simply slipped over it:
Press lightly, then the whole structure can be carefully turned over again.
Fitting the backrest is usually a little fiddly. If in doubt, get a helping hand so that you can hold the backrest, align the hinges and insert the screws at the same time. With the TANK XXL, however, this can easily be done alone thanks to the guide rail.
The guide rail is simply pushed over the adjustment mechanism:
So that you can easily screw in the screws on the other side.
Tighten well with the enclosed tool
Finally, attach the magnetic plastic covers:
