Look and feel
Let’s now take a look at the casing, which is definitely modeled on the Mac Mini series. The case is made of aluminum, the white cover on the top is made of plastic. Shortly before publication, however, I was informed by the manufacturer that there is now also an “M435-V1” version with an aluminum lid.

The front features a TF 3.0 and SD 3.0 card reader, a USB 3.2 port with 10 Gbps connection and USB 2.0. The button on the far right is used to switch the device on and off.

The rear also offers the control for RAID mode, two further USB 2.0 ports, the power connection and uplink port to the computer.

The stand on the underside is also reminiscent of modern Mac Minis and also offers various air intakes.

The top cover is held in place by four magnets and underneath are the two metal slides for 3.5″ or 2.5″ data carriers.

The M.2 slot for NVMe SSDs with a form factor of up to 2280 is then hidden behind the cover on the back.
