Pixel response times vs. overshoot @ 240 down to 60 Hz refresh rate
The P2710S offers the same settings as the P2510S when it comes to pixel overdrive. From off via level 1 to 3 up to top speed. The only question that remains is which setting delivers the best result and does the P2710S have a single overdrive experience?
OD off
OD Level 1
OD Level 2
OD Level 3
OD Topspeed
Overdrive off is clearly too slow for the 240 Hz and leads to ghosting. The same applies to OD level 1. The situation is completely different with Topspeed, where the panel is very fast, but ghosting is swapped for inverse ghosting. The overshoot is extreme. So basically only level 2 and level 3 remain. If you always generate over 144 Hz (FPS) when gaming, I recommend OD level 3. If you are below 144 Hz (FPS), then it is absolutely necessary to switch to OD level 2. You can also use OD level 2 over the entire VRR (240 – 60 Hz), as ghosting is only measurable at 240 Hz. You will not notice this at 240 Hz (FPS) in any way. We can therefore also state the following here: Overdrive Level 2 can be described as a single overdrive experience and this achieves good motion clarity!
