There has been a lot of confusion around the world recently – the global market is also up and down. There have been noticeable changes, especially since the Trump administration announced new tariffs. China has been hit particularly hard, but has responded with corresponding counter-tariffs. The impact on the tech sector cannot be overlooked and is already being felt. After the sale of NVIDIA’s H20 AI chips in China was prohibited by a US ban, the company is already preparing for the next possible restriction. This time, the GeForce RTX 5090D is likely to be affected. This information comes from the Chinese platform Chiphell, but this statement also came from the cooling module manufacturer Benchlife.
What is the current status? There is currently no official sales ban for the RTX 5090D in China. Nevertheless, NVIDIA seems to want to play it safe in view of the unpredictable developments. According to media reports, the company has already sent a message to its board partners (AIBs) recommending that sales of the card be stopped for the time being. The letter “D” stands for the Chinese version. This offers the same game performance, but is subject to various regulations. Accordingly, there is an AI acceleration restriction, which is why the card appears there in a slightly modified form.
The first AIBs such as Colorful and Palit have already stopped selling the model in order to prepare for these US measures. The cooling module manufacturer Benchlife also reports having received a similar notification: According to this, the AIBs have asked to suspend material preparation for the affected graphics card for the time being.
We have also consulted with a number of AIC partners about the restrictions, but each brand has not responded positively to the suspension of supply of GeForce RTX 5090D.
On the other hand, the heat dissipation module plant that we are familiar with also received orders and follow-up remarks from the AIC partner to suspend GeForce RTX 5090 D, and significantly reduce its delivery priority notification.

To what extent the ban will ultimately take place remains to be seen. In any case, the American government will probably be keeping an eye on it sooner or later.
