NVIDIA teases its upcoming GeForce RTX 50 “Blackwell” graphics cards

While NVIDIA has not yet confirmed any official information about the upcoming GeForce RTX 50 “Blackwell” graphics cards, it has released a new teaser video to whet the appetite for the next generation of GPUs.

The 46-second clip celebrates the company’s 25th anniversary: Exactly a quarter of a century ago, NVIDIA launched its first graphics card, the GeForce 256. Although there is no official mention of the GeForce RTX 50 series being announced, a reference to the keynote at CES 2025 and other clues suggest this. The website states that before looking to the future, the company will first take a nostalgic look back.

Before we look to the future, let’s take a nostalgic journey to celebrate the all-time greats of PC gaming.

Another reference to the new GPU series is the planned “GeForce LAN 50” event, a 50-hour gaming marathon with numerous events and surprises. The number 50 could also allude to the upcoming generation. This event starts on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. (PT) and ends just in time for the NVIDIA keynote.

GeForce LAN is back! Join PC gamers, publishers, and partners from around the globe for a one-of-a-kind, 50-hour marathon of gaming, celebrations, and quests. Prizes will be won, and epic fun will be had.

There are already first indications of the performance of the new GPUs: For example, the studio CD PROJEKT RED has shown in The Witcher IV trailer that the game was apparently created with a previously unreleased NVIDIA GPU. You can watch the trailer for the game here:

CES 2025, one of the world’s largest consumer electronics trade shows, will take place in Las Vegas from January 7-11, 2025. Companies and start-ups will be presenting their latest innovations and products there, and of course NVIDIA will also be unveiling big news, such as most likely its new GeForce 50 “Blackwell” series. It remains exciting to see what surprises await us.
