be quiet! has been known for years for being deadly serious about “quiet”. Power supply units, coolers, housings, all with the focus: as little noise as possible with maximum functionality. With the Pure Loop 3, they are now launching the third generation of their in-house AiO water cooling system. And yes, there is also a version with an ARGB circus (Pure Loop 3 LX), but today we are taking a look at the “purist” version. No disco ball, no RGB massacre, just cooling. Sounds almost like a manifesto against the colorful gaming world. And spoiler alert: it’s cheap too, but not cheap.
Packaging and scope of delivery
Before you even get to the hardware, the box catches your eye. As usual with be quiet!, the box is plain black with white lettering and an orange logo. No colorful explosions, no screaming gamer slogans, but a sober presentation that almost feels like the “business class” ticket among hardware packaging. On the front you can see the cooling unit with radiator, fans and block, clearly and without Photoshop exaggeration. The back provides the necessary technical data and features. If you want to know what’s inside, you get the information in black on black, as always discreet and unagitated.
Inside, the Pure Loop 3 360 is neatly and securely stowed in a molded cardboard carrier. The radiator, pump, fan and accessories are each individually packaged and clearly separated from each other so that nothing can slip or be damaged during transportation. To protect the surfaces, be quiet! mainly uses plastic bags. Although these reliably fulfill their purpose, paper bags or other more sustainable alternatives would be a more contemporary solution.
The accessories for the be quiet! Pure Loop 3 are compact but clearly arranged. All necessary parts for mounting on current AMD and Intel sockets are included. For Intel, brackets for LGA 1700, 1200 and 115x are included, while for AMD there is support for AM4 and AM5. The Intel backplate is made of metal and provides stability, while the existing motherboard backplate is used as usual for AMD. Screws and assembly kits are sorted by socket type and packed in clearly labeled bags, which makes it easier to find them during installation and prevents unnecessary searching. The enclosed illustrated instructions explain the installation step by step. Overall, the scope of delivery is well thought out and of high quality, in keeping with the Pure Loop 3’s high standards.
Assembly and installation
Installation is straightforward thanks to the well thought-out mounting system. All necessary parts are included in the scope of delivery. The instructions are clear and easy to understand, so even less experienced users should have no problems.
With modern AMD sockets, the existing backplate is reused and supplemented on the front with four screws, four spacers and two threaded brackets.
