Thermal Master Thor002 and P3: Solid technology and an honest price for Black Friday

For this year’s Black Friday week, the Thermal Master Store is putting the spotlight on two thermal imaging cameras, both at reduced prices, both with the claim to cover professional applications. But while one focuses on classic manual operation and robustness, the other scores with maximum compactness and smartphone connectivity. Find out what the Thor002 and P3 models are really good for below.

Thor002: The robust all-in-one thermal imaging camera

The Thor002 is aimed at anyone looking for a fully-fledged handheld device. The integrated 3.5-inch IPS display (60 Hz) offers a clear image, even if the advertised 512 × 384 pixels are technically scaled up from the 256 × 192 sensor using software. Despite this upscaling, the camera delivers a clean, practical thermal image – enhanced by an additional 2-megapixel RGB camera.

The temperature range of -20 °C to 550 °C with an accuracy of ±2 °C easily covers typical tasks in maintenance, industry, electrics, building diagnostics and HVAC checks. The robustness values are particularly impressive: IP54 protection, 2-meter drop resistance and a 5000 mAh battery with up to 10.5 hours of runtime.

Other practical features include Wi-Fi and USB-A transmission, video recording including voice memos and app connection. The current Black Friday price is €369 instead of €449 – a solid saving for a camera designed for tough everyday work.

Offer price: €369, with the code THERMALBFRI 10% discount in the official store (final price: €332) or 5% discount on Amazon (final price: €350).

Both WLAN (with app connection) and USB-A are available for data transfer, including video recording with voice memos. The Thor002 currently costs just €369 instead of €449, a decent, if not spectacular, discount. If you are looking for a solid thermal imaging camera for everyday inspection tasks, you will get a reasonable overall package here.

P3: Ultra-compact smartphone thermography adapter

The P3 takes a completely different approach: maximum mobility. Weighing just 23 grams, it fits in anywhere and works directly on a smartphone or tablet (Android via USB-C, iPhone via optional adapter).

The P3 also uses a 256 × 192 sensor with upscaling to 512 × 384. Its temperature range is even slightly wider at -20 °C to 600 °C, while the measuring accuracy of ±2 °C or ±2 % is also at a professional level. The NETD value of <35 mK enables particularly fine temperature differences – ideal for electronics and detailed analyses.

Thanks to its macro focus and compact design, it is ideal for PCBs, narrow components, small temperature fields or quick diagnoses on the move. There are limitations in terms of robustness (no IP protection) and dependence on the smartphone app. Here, the software quality determines the convenience.

However, for €279, the P3 is an extremely mobile solution that is particularly interesting for electronics engineers, service technicians and hobby diagnosticians.
